How to Fold a Collapsible Dog Cage Instructions

The collapsible dog metal cage is the most versatile, therefore the most purchased dog crate. Regardless of size or manufacturer, the folding process is pretty similar for all.

You don’t need any tools as most crates click together with existing closures. You should read the manufacturer’s instructions to see if the folding process is panel specific as some have a specific order in which the sides should be folded

Step 1: Make sure the door or doors are properly closed

Close the front door – and the side door if your crate is equipped with it. Metal cages cannot be properly folded if the doors are not properly locked. The cage should be completely empty of all toys, food bowls, blankets and liners.

Step 2: Remove the plastic pan at the bottom of the box.

Double-check that the plastic pan is pushed into the bottom of the box and that the pan is flat on the floor. To successfully fold your dog crate, you need to remove the pan at the bottom of the crate.

Step 3: Release the Panel

Release the end/door panel from the hooks on the top panel and push it towards the inside of the box until it is flush with the side panel. Repeat the process on the opposite end panel.

Step 4: Lower the top panel

Grasp the top panel and lower it to the side until the box is completely flat.

Step 5: Secure the box in the flat position with the supplied hooks.

There should be small metal hooks on the top edges of both the front and back of the chest. unhook them over the top of the box to separate both pieces in place. Look for other hooks that need to be unlocked in the same way.

Different sized crates have different amounts of hooks
